Meet the Band

Bert Curtis - Guitar

Bert's currently busy finding himself.  We'll let you know who he is as soon as he finds out!

Arlene Rojewski Stern - Vocals

I'll keep this short & sweet:  I sing.  The first time I remember singing was when I sang along with Beverly Sills on the radio in my parents car; I was about 5.  In the past I've worked in rock/heavy metal bands, musical theater, as a solo singer-songwriter, and as a commercial session singer in Los Angeles and New York.  I then decided to try real life; you know, children, marriage, divorce, marriage, major illness, care of parental units, actual jobs, etc.  As they say, "decades passed".

Since Bob & I have been married since 1992 and have never worked together, we decided it was time.  Welcome to our mutual mid-life crisis!

Bob Stern - Bass, Baritone Guitar, Vocals

Bob has been a versatile contributor to the Chicago music scene for many years. Bob got his start as a solo performer and has also been a part of a variety of Chicago bands, including Body Parts, Small World, Fun City Trailer Park, Mulligan Stew, Al Day and the Victors, and the Flynn Brothers Blues Band. He has performed rock, country, blues, and bluegrass in clubs and concerts across the Chicago area. He was also briefly featured in the documentary "Irish Chicago," singing the song, "South Side Irish."  Amongst the bass players that he has pilfered a lick or two from are Tony Levin, John Entwistle, John McVie, Chris Squire, Jon Camp, Carol Kaye, and Verdine White.

Alpha Stewart - Percussion & Vocals

To say that Alpha loves music would be an understatement. In his over 40 years of playing, the varied list of people he has performed with have had a profound influence on how he hears and approaches music. From jazz to folk, with smatterings of Irish and Middle Eastern musical influences to add spice, Alpha enjoys "coloring the music, rather than playing the music.”

While he is comfortable playing hand percussion (congas, bongos and other assorted hand instruments,) he also transfers his "love of coloring" to drumming. This combined with his sometimes over the top stage presence combine to make him an entertaining addition to any performance. He’s also a very “well rounded” musician: click here!
